Traditional charity has a trust problem. Donors write cheques to organizations, then hope the money reaches the people who need it. There’s rarely any proof. Over time, that uncertainty erodes the impulse to give at all.
Scan Support is built to fix this with technology already in everyone’s pocket. In the model we’re building, donors give directly to verified recipients through a category-restricted virtual card. Every spending category will be pre-approved, and donors will see how their gift is allocated. Recipients will spend freely, without shame, within a framework built for their needs, with receipt-level verification arriving in Phase 2. The app is built and pre-pilot; no shelter partnership has started yet, and we’re designing the model for the Greater Toronto Area first.
